“I love Autumn, or Fall if you prefer. If you live in the northern hemisphere there’s something very comforting in the leaves changing colour, the nights drawing in, the change from salads, barbeques and chilled white wine to hearty stews, warming chilli and rich red wine. Snuggling up in front of a roaring fire, soft lighting, comfy slippers, with a glass of your favourite tipple, has to be one of the most simple and yet wonderful pleasures you can have. For me, it’s even better if the weather outside is frightful, especially if you can hear it. This album is an attempt to express that experience in music and sound. Imagine you’re staying in a gorgeous little cottage somewhere, it’s a stormy evening with strong winds whistling under the doors and rain and thunder hammering away outside. You’ve eaten a lovely meal with someone you love, and you’re now feeling happily full, peaceful and cosy. Of course, it works just as well if it’s warm and balmy and you’re relaxing in the sun or on the beach. I’ll leave it up to you as to whether you fall asleep or not. Here’s to you, dear listener.”
