Hiraeth Records

THE LABEL

Founded in 2018 by Jornt Elzinga, basically in a bedroom somewhere in The Netherlands, Hiraeth Records has become a big name in the Vaporwave scene.

Hiraeth Records began as a hobby project born from Jornt Elzinga's passion for Vaporwave and Mallsoft. Over the years it has grown into a major label with locations in the US and Europe, and a big EU Distro shop.

At Hiraeth Records, we release music from both veteran and new artists across various Vaporwave (sub)genres. Our label currently focuses on music ranging from New Age to Cyberpunk-influenced Ambient, and from Barber Beats to Solarpunk. We have released albums from legendary artists such as 猫シ Corp., t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者, Auragraph, 沙漠鱿鱼, desert sand feels warm at night, and from tokyo to honolulu.

The name of the label comes from the Welsh word ‘Hiraeth‘, which means: “a homesickness for a home to which you cannot return, or for a home which may have never been.”

QUALITY

At Hiraeth Records, we strive to provide premium-quality items at affordable prices that will appeal to every music collector out there!

All of our records are pressed on high-quality 180-gram vinyl, protected by anti-static inner sleeves, and housed in 300-gram heavyweight jackets with a thick outer sleeve. To minimize damage, our records are shipped ‘out-of-sleeve’. Our CDs come most of the time with a special Obi-strip. We make a conscious effort to produce our products in an environmentally-friendly manner.

With distribution warehouses in The Netherlands and the USA, we offer affordable international shipping. All items are typically in stock and available for immediate shipment. We do not sell pre-orders – unless stated otherwise, so you won’t have to wait for months to receive your order. Depending on your location, you can visit either our USA Shop or our EU Shop.

In addition to our own releases, we also stock items from other labels and artists in our Distro section.
