From The Netherlands, 猫シ Corp. is an influential figure in the vaporwave and mallsoft genres, active since 2013. Known for crafting music that explores themes of consumerism, nostalgia, and digital aesthetics, 猫シ Corp. often uses smooth jazz, elevator music, ambient soundscapes, and the sounds of shopping malls to evoke a sense of lost commercial utopias.

In recent years, 猫シ Corp. has gradually shifted focus from classic vaporwave to a more ambient-driven style, evolving to explore deeper, introspective themes. Because of this some of 猫シ Corp.’s best-known works is Building a Better World, which showcase a unique blend of ambient-driven soundscapes and dreampunk vaporwave. The album marked the beginning of a new era for 猫シ Corp. and also the start of “Hiraeth Records“.

This shift has drawn listeners into dreamlike environments and futuristic spaces, merging ambient soundscapes with vaporwave’s nostalgic core and establishing 猫シ Corp.’s place in the ambient music landscape.

Blueberries on Mars: The Remixes

A transmission from beyond the stars - Blueberries on Mars: The Remixes reimagines 猫シ Corp.’s cosmic ambient journey through the ears of alien civilizations across the galaxy. Inviting Pizza Hotline, 暗闇DESTINY, Tim Six, 地球, 沙漠鱿鱼 (DesertSquid), Zuwe, and Zer0 れい as ambassadors for their own unique style, the remixes reflect distant cultures through sound—ranging from jungle and slushwave, to ambient techno and solarpunk.

Each artist was given full access to the original stems, with the freedom to draw from multiple tracks and reshape them into something entirely new. Pizza Hotline's remix of "Stars Blinking" brings a rapid jungle pulse, Zuwe's remix of "A New Planet" slows things down with dub-influenced ambient, while 沙漠鱿鱼’s version dissolves the title track into a haze of slushwave textures.

Building a Better World

猫シ Corp. and t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者 are no strangers to the vaporwave and ambient scene. Each artist having their own unique style and sound, they have united and combined their skills for a new album: “Building a Better World”. From deep and hazy synths to light and airy pads: Building a Better World marks a new beginning.

Both artists have created an instant classic when Building a Better World was first released back in 2019. After Building a Better World sold out very quickly, the album was released again in 2020. Now the album is scheduled to rerelease once again in 2022. Let the music take you to otherworldly planets, dystopian cities and utopian jungle-like ringworlds.

For the CD version both artists choose something special to make it an unique item: a CD only bonus track plus a special 1988 mastering. This means a real time 13-bit 26KHz AD/DA conversion was done for the CD master, giving it a crisp and hazy sound with a punchy low-end.

The album will carry the catalogue number ‘HR001’; this marks the very first release of Hiraeth Records.

Blueberries on Mars

Elegance unfurls on the fourth planet from the sun, crowded with vegetation and activity. Through a confluence of hardware synths, digital synths and field recordings, an otherworldly vista materialises in the mind’s eye. An immaculate soundscape, sombre in moments and miraculous in others. Once desolate celestial bodies now sway and bloom with life and energy. Unknown animals call out from deep within the undergrowth, cries echoing through the rich ink-black canvas of space. 猫シ Corp. builds a detailed world beyond this theme of new life in distant lands.

地球 – ジャングル

A naturewave side-project, under the 地球 alias, “ジャングル” is a new age ambient album that will take you on an exotic journey through the lush and mystical rainforests. With its captivating blend of meditative music and sounds of nature, this album will transport you to a tranquil world of jungle magic and wonder.

Throughout the album, you’ll be guided on a journey through the jungle – from the dense undergrowth of the forest floor to the soaring canopy above.
