VANITAS命死

VANITAS命死 is a Belgian producer and multidisciplinary artist bringing together Vaporwave, Slushwave, digital art and fictional worldbuilding.

His work moves through abandoned museums, virtual landscapes and damaged media archives, where nostalgia slowly shifts into something unfamiliar.

Alongside his music, he creates album artwork, 3D environments and visuals for his own projects and other artists. In 2025, he performed an audiovisual set at SLUSHWAVE 2025, with visuals generated in real time through TouchDesigner and distorted live using feedback and effects. He also contributed to Nobody Here: The Story of Vaporwave, creating the virtual apartment featured in the film.

His recent slushwave work explores both sample-free composition and the genre’s more traditional sample-based approach. Terra Forma 夜 returned to sample-free slushwave, translating the scale and impermanence of land art into eight atmospheric compositions while continuing ideas first explored on 野外博物館 and 仮想雨林. Other recent releases include 美術館にて、愛をゆっくりと学ぶ, SUBSTRATA-4 and SLUSHWAVE 2025 (𝓁𝒾𝓋ℯ 𝓇𝒾𝓅).
